Trondheim for You - Guided Tours

Wanda gave us a wonderful tour of Trondheim. Her knowledge of the city and its history make the tour more interesting. And she does just recite facts and dates. She makes it real and funny and entertaining. We feel lucky to have found her.

Trondheim with our excellent guide Wanda, was a wonderfull surprise for all of us We visited Trondheim on MSC FANTASIA cruise and we decided to have a private guided tour of the city What a grate luck, we had Mrs Wanda to show us her beloved place Her kindness her patiency with all our needs and her knowledge of all-even unknown to everybody- stories of the town, made our short stay remarkable.

After all the great reviews we read about Wanda, we booked a walking tour. The reviews were all correct. Wanda is an amazing knowledgeable guide. Worth every NOK. This was our second trip to Norway, but our first to Trondheim. We loved Trondheim; and learning about the history of the area made it so much more special. If you are going to Trondheim; make sure you take a few hours to meet up with Wanda.

Wanda guided our international guests for two days. They were extremely pleased with the experience and had lots of fun. Her enthusiasm and love for Trondheim made them look at the city in a whole new way, and they loved her thorough knowledge about the history of this town as well as her many amusing stories and anecdotes from the past. Wanda from Trondheim for You, was an amazing guide. She gave us so much history and passion, all within a three hour leisurely walk. I am very thankful for the grace and love she put into her tour. It was a beautiful way to see the city. To hear histories that I wouldn’t have thought to look for. To understand the history, how it’s been pulled together with modern society. My husband and I visited Trondheim 17-20 June 2022. My great grandmother was born in Trondheim and emigrated to the USA in her late teens, so I wanted to learn more about the city and culture she lived in. Our tour with Trondheim for You, and our guide, Wanda, was the perfect way to get that experience. She is flexible with times and places, and very accommodating. After communicating with her through email and seeing the effort she was putting into making this a very personal, customized experience, I hired her for two entire days. She never suggested that, but she was willing to let us hire her for extra time.We were so glad we found this company! Wanda is truly an expert on Trondheim and knows its history very well. We met at Bakke Kirke, the church my great grandmother was christened in. We were lucky enough to find it open while a group was waiting to start a christening. Wanda very respectfully and deftly asked one of the church members if we could step in for just a moment to see the interior. She has great people skills! We were allowed to enter, and after we stepped out again, she told us some very interesting history about the church.We also went through my great grandmother's neighborhood (Bakklandet - famous historical neighborhood, tour if you have a chance), where Wanda shared a lot of history and practical information about the area, it's construction, how it has changed over the years, as well as fun tidbits about customs and the people who lived there in my great grandmother's time.I had asked her to find us a traditional Norwegian place to eat lunch, and once again Wanda delivered exactly what we wanted. She took us to an adorable little restaurant in Bakklandet in an old building that oozed history and warm happiness. The menu was traditional and delicious.I had told Wanda in an email that I am a singer who loves organ music. After lunch, she took us to Nidaros Cathedral for an afternoon organ meditation. The cathedral organist was phenominal! We had to go outside the building after the recital because they were getting ready for a church service, but Wanda told us a lot about the history, construction, traditions, etc. She also showed us some pictures she brought in a binder to help us get acquainted with the people and the stories.We crossed the most famous walking bridge in Trondheim and made our way to the royal palace. On the way, she pointed things out, told us fun stories, and we got to know each other a bit. She was a delight the whole time!It started raining - she never lost her enthusiasm and always found places under trees where it looked drier than the sidewalk. The whole tour, she was asking us how we were doing, making sure we weren't getting too worn out or cold, making sure we were comfortable. She also knew the bus routes and schedules very well. We had no problem getting back to our AirBnB after the day was over.The next day we visited the Trøndelag Folk Museet. It was so great!!! It would have been neat on our own, but with Wanda it was phenominal. Wanda was a wonderful guide who knew exactly what questions to ask the staff to make sure we got the most out of our visit. She also asked questions during their presentations and tours that added greater insight to what we were learning about.Hiring Wanda to be our personal guide was the best thing we've ever done on a vacation. She was wonderful!!! She did a lot of research before we came to Trondheim, she personalized the tour extremely well, she's an expert on the city, and she's very conscientious about her guests' well-being and comfort. It was very clear that she loves Trondheim, and now we love it, too. I would love to spend more time with Wanda. Here's to another trip in the future!

Our family of six had a fantastic tour with Wanda! Her love for Trondheim shined through as she brought the history of the city to life for us. She was great with our kids and very flexible as weather conditions shifted. We would absolutely recommend the tour.
