Det skjeve tårn

Historical landmark as this tower was built in the 1980s to prove that they had the technology to make a leaning tower in concrete with variable wall thickness. This experience was used for building the enormous Troll platform - one of many concrete oil and gas platforms that was made here in Jåttåvågen. The leaning tower were supposed to be demolished (like the Eiffel tower back in the days) but it is still standing even if the construction of platforms have moved on to other locations. There is not much to see in the tower unless you do to a special event at the top - there are sometimes church services there and you can also rent the space for special events (birthdays, weddings etc).
