Norway Excursions Olden - PIER
This excursion exceded our expectations. The walk up to the glacier is along a beautiful stream with a dramatic waterfall. Everywhere you look is dramatic and beautiful. The hike will not be difficult for regular hikers. For those concerned, stay on the right hand when the trail splits. This will send you up stairs at the steepest part, while the path on the left is over rocks and a bit more challenging.

Olden ist ein schöner kleiner Ort am Ende des Fjords. Hier kann man allerdings die Freude der Menschen über Gäste nachfühlen. Nachdem wir einen gemütlichen Tag im Ort verbracht machen, wurde die AIDAsol beim Auslaufen gebührend verabschiedet.

The member of staff was extremely helpful and spoke perfect English. We booked a trip to Briksdal glacier at a fraction of the price that the cruise was charging. The taxi there was great and we were given plenty of time to walk to the glacier and back before picking us up again. We even had plenty of time to look around the shop and eat an ice-cream .

A choice of excursions from buses to the skylift or troll cars, with scenic bus routes and a road train stopping off at various photo opportunity points along the way.... due to weather with low cloud with rain and mist we opted for the toad train, a 50 minute trip stopping off here and there with an interesting commentary pointing out landmarks and points of interest and humorous stories along the way finishing at either the retail outlets or the ship, priced at £26 pp a worthwhile trip catching a glimpse of the glacier. Had the weather been better we would have gone to the sky lift first.
