This museum is stunning - the variety of exhibits, the opportunity to explore two polar exploration ships, the fabulous cold simulation experience, it’s all fantastic. My kids learnt so much and we all voted this the best laid out museum in Oslo. If you are unsure about visiting, don’t hesitate, definitely worth a few hours.

Well worth the visit. Allow for about 90 minutes to read all exhibit plagues. A bit confusing to start as introduction video not working. Be nice if there was a “start here” sign somewhere! Otherwise a very interesting story on the race to the South Pole!

In my opinion, this is a must see in Oslo. Don’t try to walk here, it’s kind of a pain to walk to from the city, speaking from experience. Although the walk was beautiful, so if you’re up for a bit of a hike, go for it. Take a city bus here for sure, or the ferry. Just note that if you choose to take the ferry, the last one leaves back to the city at 18:10. I really enjoyed this museum because of how unique and interesting it was. You get to walk in throughout the ship, which was the highlight. They have lots of really interesting exhibitions about arctic exploration. They also have other museums right here that you can go to. There is a really nice lookout point behind the museum once you’re done to enjoy the Fjord and see all the boats passing by.

Great museum for fans of exploration, sea travel and anything Arctic/Antarctic. We really enjoyed touring the ships. The exhibits were enlightening and had several interactive components. Our family enjoyed the visit from young to old.

Fantastic museum situated on Bidgoy peninsula! It is included in the Oslo pass! There’s an entire ship inside that is also accessible! Lots of different things to do for kids and adults! You can also try to pull a sleigh as if you were in the North Pole!

The Fram Museum was amazing. There are two boats that can be toured and there are detailed displays outlining many expeditions to explore the north and south poles. There are several interactive opportunities for the kids and a short film making this a great afternoon for the whole family.

We took a ferry from Oslo to reach here. This entire museum is about the polar jouneys in earlier days. The way Fram ship is restored is amazing. One has to see it to believe it. There are so many decks from where one can exploe the vast ship. There is also a lift for covenience. Keep aside at least two hours if you wan to enjoy this beautiful museum...Worth it...

Museum depicts the Norwegian polar exploration. There's a historical ship where you could even go inside and explore which is cool. You can learn some history and even you are not interested this place will make you interesting once you get there. Went during the weekend and wasn't that crowded. Highly recommended.

Museum dedicated to history of Antarctic exploration, with steam powered ship ”Fram” as its centerpiece. You can learn about the race between Amundsen and Scott and also see the different parts of the ship from inside. The museum store with recreations of travel logs is worth visiting.
