I was interested in climbing Pulpit Rock while I was visiting Stavanger and I only had 3 days over a weekend. All tourist sites said they were booked until Tuesday….I had a heckuva time trying to find tourist information that was open… I could only find online info and I needed a person.I happen to walk down by Fish market and I came across Region Stavenger which is in a yellow building close to where the tour boats are located. The gal on duty was Jamila and she was absolutely delightful and so helpful. I understood immediately that she was just giving me options of what I could do and she wasn’t promoting any particular tour company. When we were done talking she had given me a list of five options of how to go about accomplishing my goal of climbing Pulpit Rock. I am 70 years old and am traveling alone. I thoroughly appreciated her honesty and thoroughness.. She was exactly what I was looking for. I ended up being able to arrange my transportation to pulpit rock, climb up and back, and get my transportation back to Stevanger four less than $50 ….And that included two beer!!!
