Hjemmefrontmuseet
Incredibly comprehensive museum showing the hard work of the Norwegian people following the surprise attack by the Germans. Lots of source material. Fascinating. Well worth the visit.

Hidden gem. Small but mighty museum on the grounds of Akerhus Castle. We went immediately when they opened and had the entire museum to ourselves. Numerous artifacts and interesting exhibits about Norway's role in WWII.

Hjemmefrontmuseet
Comprehensive museum detailing the Norwegian resistance. Lots of text and pictures although tough to follow the story at times. As a non-European, learned a lot about the resistance and WWII in Norway, but it was so detailed and localized, not as powerful as it could have been.

Great museum! Bigger than it looks. Chronologically organized and routed. Many things are translated to English, however much is still either in Norwegian or German, and so Google Translate is quite helpful.

There's plenty to see in a smallish place. All well laid out. Most of the exhibits had English translation, which added to our experience. It was interesting to find out how the resistance movement worked in Norway.

An excellently thought out museum. In a few places the English translations were a little worn out and hard to read, a few lightbulbs needed replacing in some of the fun miniature displays, but you can figure it all out. A must for anyone interested in ww2 history. When I was there on a Sunday morning it was wonderfully empty and I took my time... about 90 minutes to get thru the multilevel exhibition.

Amazing important history, well presented, though with limited translation. The museum and all exhibits look as if they were put together 40 or more years ago. It’s too bad this hasn’t been made more prominent and the facility updated.

Amazing details, photos and artifacts tell the story of Norway's resistance during WWII in both Norwegian and English. I spent an hour here and lost track of time as I became immersed in the information.
