Flåm Car Rental

We are very satisfied with the car rental. The car was fine and we were even able to get a 7-seater, there were no problems with the inspection of already existing damages and they offered a great service! We lived in Aurland which means that it is not so easy to get the car from Flåm, but they even offered us a pickup in Aurland for both times which made it very easy for us. And by the way, it was very helpful for us to have a car in that area to have the chance to reach hikes and viewpoints easily.

We had originally booked with the other car rental place in town but are SO happy we switched a few days before our trip. The other car rental place seems to be a scam according to the reviews.It was extremely easy to book a car here. Rune was very quick to respond to my request and we had a car booked within 24 hours. The office is a quick walk from the Flåm train station. Our car was very clean and we had no trouble with it at all. Pick up and drop off was extremely easy. Rune gave us everything we needed for an amazing trip in the Flåm area.

Super Service. Der Vermieter der Autos war sehr freundlich. Ich hatte ein wenig ein schlechtes Gewissen, weil das Auto schmutzig geworden ist. Das war allerdings gar kein Problem. Es lohnt sich absolut hier einen Wagen zu mieten. Man kann viel mehr vom wunderschönen Ort und der Umgebung entdecken. Wir haben für zwei Personen knapp 160€ für einen ganzen Tag mit 200 Freikilometern gezahlt. Wir mussten nicht nachtanken.

Very disappointing booking experience. I have followed up twice on email for confirmation of my booking. I also called thier hotline today at 9:20 am local time. The person who picked up the phone was impolite and refused to provide any help.I asked him whether multiple emails I sent have been received, he said he didn’t know. When I asked if my car was reserved, he didn’t even bother asking my name and booking details, but straight up told me their company didn’t have my booking. As my booking wasn’t secured according to your staff, I then asked him to help me in reserving a car, he said he didn’t know how to do it and told me to wait for an email reply. I understood car rental company could be short staffed during holiday season, so when I asked him when I can expect a response for my request, he also said he didn’t know. This is utterly frustrating as their staff fail to answer or provide a response to every single of my enquiry. My husband and I are trying to celebrate our anniversary in Flam, the confusing booking process has let us down and make it extra difficulty for us to plan our trip ahead.

A perfect experience! Easy online booking via email. The manager, Rune was quick to reply and was transparent with pricing and logistics. I highly recommend booking in advance. Once arrived to Flam, the office was easy to locate (right by the pier). The car was already on the street and ready to go for us! The car was very clean, easy to drive, no problems at all. Dropping the car back off was quick with no headache. My group and I were very excited to have the opportunity to drive north; probably the best part of our trip, so we are thankful for the services of Flam Car Rental.

I never thought I’d say “wow” about a car rental experience, but it’s appropriate in this case. We lucked out and were able to rent a van same-day (I’d recommend booking ahead, they didn’t have anything when we called previously), and the process was very quick. Rune was SUPER helpful with some tips about how to plan our route and pointed us in a few directions we wouldn’t have known about that were real highlights of the trip. He even helped us find a phone that had been misplaced between the Marina and the rental site! The car was in good shape and clean, and the whole process was so easy. DEFINITELY recommend renting a car, and DEFINITELY recommend Flåm Car Rental!

We had actually tried to rent a car from another company in town. I am very happy that they did not answer until the day we arrived in Flåm on our cruise because then we came here. Minutes after the Ship arrived the paperwork was done and we were on our way to see the local sights. Rune was very friendly and helpful. Going so far as to give us his private number if we had any questions. I would recommend renting a car from here when arriving in Flåm by cruise ship. Even though he said the car was not clean when he handed it over it was very clean. He was also not angry that we brought it back in a bit of a state.
