Our experience renting the RV (booking no. OSL11048) was overall positive, in spite of a series of problems which I will list below:1)Water pump stopped working on day 3 of our 7 day trip. Bojan (really nice and helpful guy, although he is over stretched, too much work on his hands for 1 person) had explained how to change the fuse when we picked up the RV (indicates this is a recurring problem - why?). I replaced the fuse with the one next to it, but this did not resolve the problem. I tried replacing the fuse with yet another one in the fuse box, but nothing. No water. Eventually had to look for a motor home repair centre, where they inserted a new fuse, and - bingo! Water pump started working. The problem with Bojan's advice was that both the fuses I used to replace the water pump fuse were also burnt, meaning that the vehicle was not serviced thoroughly, in spite of it being only 1 year old and having only 24k kilometers on the clock. To be honest I would have given 2/3 stars just because of this, but I am giving 4 stars because Mcrent refunded the cost of the repair and also refunded 1 day rent, making up for the time we lost.2)All the instructions and manuals in the RV were in Norwegian and German. Nothing in English! Come on, Mcrent, English is the international language, you have to provide instructions in English also!! When the gas bottle ran out, I had to reset the heater and the fridge, which was quite a complex operation. Had it not been for a good Australian video on YouTube I would never have managed.3)On the last day of the trip we had to deliver the RV at 9.00am. Our flight was at 11.00am. When I turned the key at 8.00am (we were in a campsite 40 mins away from Mcrent) the engine did not start. The battery was struggling badly. We had to call a service truck who managed to get the engine started, claiming the battery was gone. Never got to the bottom of what caused this. When we eventually got to the delivery point Mcrent drove us to the airlort. We got there 5 minutes before the flight closed. Very, very stressful indeed. In summary, I am giving a detailed review in the hope that Mcrent pay attention and improve things, particularly in terms of servicing the vehicle before renting it out. Norway was fantastic and we had many enjoyable moments in spite of the problems.I recommend Mcrent, but make sure the vehicle is well serviced and that they give you some NEW replacement fuses. Also make sure you give yourselves plenty of time before your return flight.

Very poor aftersales experience. Allegedly the motorhome was returned with damage and McRent kept our deposit of over 1000€. No document or proof has been shared, the money was simply kept. Mcrent is totally unreachable to discuss this. The motorhomes are fine, just hope you can avoid any contact with their customer service.

Just an update. I got response from McRent Europe and problem started to move. But no one response from McRent Oslo. Would not recommend to rent from McRent in Oslo.We have a great impression from Norway, but McRent was problematic. We got a car with bad battery. I was needed to jump start car from the first morning. McRent didn't agree to replace the battery with argumentation that working radio was the reason. They agreed only after 4 days of returning problem. I was needed to care replace battery myself , McRent promises to return the cost and refund me on ruined days. Now I'm on 3 week after the rent, return and refund doesn't occur

Very nice experience !!! The camping car was clean an very easy to use. The team was very nice, allow us to do an early check in, give us very good advises for camping in Norway and even bring us back to the train station after the check out. I strongly recommand the agency near the airport by bus and near the city by train. See you later mc rent Oslo !

Overall we had a positive experience using Mcrent Oslo.At the check-in, we had to wait about 30 minutes before someone came to do the paperwork. We after understood that he was alone taking care of a lot of people at the same time. Despite that Bojan, was extremely nice and welcoming. He explained to us how things worked and made himself available (even throughout our rental period and during his day off) when we had issues. The campervan we were given was not the same that the one we pre booked and, unfortunately, its water pump was broken. We had to stop our trip for a day to have it fix in another Mcrent location (they were also very helpful). This was an inconvenience I wished could have been avoided by pre checking the campervan before renting it. By reading other reviews I feel It is a recurring issues to rent campervan with mechanical issues. Make sure to check yours before setting off to remote locations. The condition of the campervan was good overall. However, some parts were a bit outdated and not fixed from previous rental which isn’t the best thing to have. The bed linens and towels were quite outdated as well with a strong humidity smell. The overall cleanliness of the campervan when we took it was okay but not excellent. That being said, the campervan is also well equipped with kitchen ustensiles and a camping set, that was a big bonus! As I said, overall the experience was good. We had a fantastic time driving around Norway in the RV. The “negative” feedback is more for setting expectations and hoping Mcrent tries to put more ressources into its staff and campervans.I also wish Mcrent Oslo would be a bit more reactive in answering communications, especially when it comes to releasing the deposit.

Rental was smooth from start to end. The team were expecting us on arrival and we waited for a few check ins whilst we watched the intro video. Motorhome we hired was probably not best suited for 4 of us on a longer holiday. We did a week of travel.Great motorhome, pretty good condition on everything. A few snags which we alerted staff to on our return and I'm sure they will look into. Scissors and knife were broken as were a few other bits but nothing to ruin a perfect holiday. For us it was a space issue, 2 and 2 smaller children would gave been fab. For teens, the seats were too small as was the moving around space inside. We would use McRent again, the professional team and the motorhomes, the ease of it all 10 out of 10. Thank you

We have recently rented a Dethleffs Globebus Motorhome, license plate CV 96034 in Oslo (OSL 11528) and we are very unhappy with Mc Rent's service. They gave us the motorhome with a damaged water pump and we spent the 8 days of our trip without being able to fix it and, worst of all, without getting a response from Mc Rent (not even on the 24-hour phones) until the fourth day of the trip. When we finally managed to contact them, they found no workshop on our route and recommended a workshop two days later (day 6 of our 8 day trip) if we changed the route and went to Voss. Unfortunately, after changing our route, we arrived and the workshop had just closed, so we continued to the end of the trip without fixing the problem. We made a claim when returning the Motorhome in Oslo and we have not yet received a response. We have sent many emails to Mc Rent Oslo, Mc Rent Norway and Mc Rent Spain and have received no response. After two months, we have received compensation from Mc Rent, through the e-mail of the response to this opinion on Google. Thank you

I can't follow some of the reviews below. We had the best McRent experience so far. We had a great personal introduction lasting 45 minutes. OK, we rented off season, but they let us pick up the van early facilitated by McRent head office in Germany. We forgot to rent the towels, they added them for free. It's correct the kitchen equipment was a bit sparser than in Germany, but everything else was great. Also, in Germany we had to vacuum the van ourselves and return it sounds and span. Here it was done by staff (they complimented us that our can was one of the cleanest vans returned). We got free tea and coffee, the suitcases were stored for us.
