Vardenes Fyr

This is a baron peninsula near Vardenes. The views are not exactly great from here as there is heavy industry visible when looking in certain directions, but it is peaceful and you can watch large shipping come and go if that's your interest.There are footpaths leading to and from the spot and obviously ideal for local dog walkers.You probably won't ever come here as a tourist, though, as there are far better places to be in the Stavanger area. I just happen to have met someone who lives near here.

Here you get insight, play and fun in hilly terrain. From the car park at Eskeland, take the E39 and follow a winding hiking trail up Tastarustå. Remember to turn around from time to time, and enjoy the beautiful view towards Stokkavatnet. Test out fitness equipment at Tasta sports park and playgrounds along the way. You continue playing lightly down towards the sea and Skogstøstraen. Through quiet residential streets you enjoy the flower blooms of gardens. A glimpse of the sea, before the hiking trail takes you under the pine legs.Treat yourself to a detour to Vardenes lighthouse and have lunch on svaberg with a magnificent view of Ryfylke. After a refreshing dip in Dusavik, you burn calories in the steep slopes, past Vardeneset church and up on Tastavarden. The effort is rewarded with panoramic views. You get your breath back on the slope down towards Tasta school.
