An amazing trip! Booked the trip through Discover Norway to cycle Tromso to Svolvaer in late July and the 6 of us experienced a trip of a lifetime. Stunning scenery at every turn and met very nice people along the way. We got lucky with perfect weather. Accommodations were fine and usually upgradable if you wanted a bit better. Food was consistently good at the booked hotels. Bikes we rented through the Discover Norway website were solid good bikes. There were a few warm days but generally you need to have a layer or two extra to be taking on and off throughout the day. Absolutely worth the $$ spent and I would recommend Discover Norway.

Such a beautiful country and wonderful people. I signed up for a self guided tour of the Lofoten Islands in Northern Norway above the Arctic Circle. It would have been an exceptional experience except the bicycles were terrible. They say threes a charm and the third was quite acceptable, although I wouldn't give it five stars. From chains that dropped, overly greased chains, howling brakes and shifters that almost required two hands to shift, it really diminished the overall cycling vacation. Discover Norway did provide support on the road and made great attempt to rectify problems, but there is only so much that can be done while traveling across the country. Hotels, food, comradely was awesome, and we lucked out with the weather, but I would not use this company again because of the unreliability of the bikes themselves. I would love to return to Norway. It's a wonderful country.
