Thanks to the reviews here the process was easy. I've done comprehensive video of the undamaged car. The kiosk was quick and easy and in multiple languages. Level 2. So up the ramp round to the right up again then the wide right. Car park is very tight so take care.

The rental kiosk was not able to read my US passport. I called the help number but no one picked up the phone call. I called Hertz Norway, but they only transferred me to the kiosk operator who did not pick up the call. Horrible customer service from Hertz, Hertz Norway, and whoever operates this kiosk. No one acknowledged the problem and no means to keep me as Hertz customer. I would never recommend anyone to rent from this location. I had to taxi to BGO and rent a car from Budget. I would strongly recommend renting a car from BGO.

I was concerned about all the negative reviews but my experience was good overall. The car (Rav4 hybrid) was available, and it was clean and exceeded my expectations.One complaint I have is the kiosk was a challenge to use--it had all my info and would allow payment of the rental fees but failed repeatedly when charging the deposit to my card. I tried about a dozen times with 3 different credit cards. All my banks would authorize the charges but the kiosk machine would fail. I almost gave up but tried one last time and it for some unknown reason it was successful.

Pick up was anything but straight forward, the self service machine doesn’t work properly and everyone was having issues. After driving for 10 minutes we noticed a warning light on the dashboard & a message telling us there was a malfunction and to visit a dealership. After several attempts to get in touch with Hertz they told us to drive to a nearby Hertz location, where someone would be able to help us. Turned up at said location to find no one there. After several calls it turned out we’d have to wait 2 hours for the Hertz staff to show up, so we called road side assistance, who got there well before any sign of the Hertz staff. They advised it was a fault with the car due to the tyres being changed to summer tyres and the car system not being reset properly. Absolutely ridiculous that Hertz didn’t pre warn us about this or weren’t able to advise us over the phone & instead wasted hours of our holiday through sheer incompetence. Avoid Hertz at all costs.

Cette compagnie est malhonnête, fuyez là, c'est une véritable arnaque. J'ai loué la semaine dernière une voiture chez hertz à la gare centrale de Bergen. Le système de prise en charge automatique ne fonctionnait pas. Il a fallu appeler un numéro de téléphone pour trouver une solution. Après avoir récupéré le véhicule, vous recevez un mail ou il est demandé de prendre des photos de la voiture dès la prise en charge du véhicule pour identifier d'éventuels dommages apparents. Le problème c'est qu'on vous demande de faire 4 photos à chaque angle du véhicule. Le véhicule est placé dans un garage où il y a très peu de luminosité par conséquent il est difficile de voir s'il y a des défauts supplémentaires, autres que ceux qui sont déclarés dans le contrat. De plus on ne vous demande pas de prendre des photos des bas de caisse et des jantes de chaque côté du véhicule. Lorsque j'ai ramené le véhicule, hertz m’a demandé de payer pour des dommages prétextant que j'avais fait des rayures sur une jante ce qui est faut. Le véhicule a été manipulé avec soin durant toute la location sans jamais avoir heurté quoi que ce soit. Cette compagnie profite du fait que vous n'utilisez pas leurs assurances pour vous charger automatiquement des dommages pour lesquels vous n'êtes pas responsable. C'est agence est particulièrement malhonnête, d'ailleurs lisez tous les commentaires des clients qui se plaignent, et qui expliques exactement le même processus que je viens de subir. Je vous déconseille fortement de louer un véhicule avec cette agence. Choisissez plutôt une agence où il y a des personnes qui peuvent vous aider à constater les dommages lors de la prise en charge du véhicule et au retour. Fuyez cette agence.This company is dishonest, run away, it's a real scam. I rented a car last week from hertz at Bergen central station. The automatic pick-up system did not work. Had to call a phone number to find a solution. After picking up the vehicle, you will receive an email where you are asked to take photos of the car as soon as the vehicle is picked up to identify any visible damage. The problem is that you are asked to take 4 photos at each angle of the vehicle. The vehicle is placed in a garage where there is very little light so it is difficult to see if there are any additional faults, other than those declared in the contract. In addition, you are not asked to take photos of the rocker panels and rims on each side of the vehicle. When I brought the vehicle back, hertz asked me to pay for the damage claiming that I had made scratches on a rim which is necessary. The vehicle was handled with care throughout the rental without ever hitting anything. This company takes advantage of the fact that you do not use their insurance to automatically charge you for damages for which you are not responsible. This agency is particularly dishonest, moreover read all the comments of customers who complain, and which explain exactly the same process that I have just undergone. I strongly advise against renting a vehicle with this agency. Instead, choose an agency where there are people who can help you see the damage when picking up the vehicle and on the way back. Avoid this agency.

We have been scammed by this company. We rented a car and when we arrived to pick it up they did not have a car for us. They were very ride and unhelpful and that really ruined my trip and experience in Norway.They did not keep their word of having a car as booked and they were very unhelpfulwith finding a solution to our problems caused by them.Other people who arrived on the same day as us had the same issue.If any other user knows if there is a norwegian consumer rights agency where I could post my claim, so that this doesnt happento others, it wouldbe great.

It was so difficult to find! Go to the 2nd floor and row 22. There are almost no signs to help you find it. Once you are there, there is a kiosk to deposit your keys. I suggest you take pictures of your car before you leave so you don’t get charged for any damage you didn’t do

Wir waren sehr zufrieden und es hat alles geklappt!Wir konnten den Customer Service immer sehr schnell erreichen, sie war sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und kompetent.Wir fanden es auch leicht zu finden (wie in der E-Mail angegeben im 2. Stock) und der Self Check-In Automat direkt am Aufzug. Ein Tipp ist vorher den Check-In auszufüllen, sodass man es nicht am Automaten noch einmal ausfüllen muss, was bestimmt länger dauert. Der Führerschein wurde auch direkt erkannt (wir haben jedoch auch einen EU-Führerschein), wir hatten jedoch Probleme die Kaution zu hinterlegen, sodass wir mit mehreren Karten probieren mussten bis es schließlich ging.Das Auto war sauber, zwei Schäden waren jedoch nicht vermerkt, daher ist es auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen das zu dokumentieren. Uns ist ein weiterer Schaden aufgefallen, als wir an einem Parkplatz (mit mehr Licht) geparkt haben, was wir noch einmal (mit einem Video) dokumentiert haben und auch noch bei Hertz nachmelden konnten.Was wir vorher nicht wussten: Man muss eine Road fee administration tax zahlen (bei uns 80 NOK) und die Road fee auch noch zahlen, das ist nicht im Preis inkludiert. Hier könnte Hertz etwas transparenter sein.

Worst car rental service and location ever. It is a kiosk that is impossible to find (no signs at all from the direction we came from). We checked in online the day before, but it took us more than 2 hours to pick up our car. The machine keeps giving errors and we had to call their call center 3 times before they agreed to send someone to solve the problem.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. After difficulty finding the pickup/drop off location, I got my car (which was fine). However, after I dropped it off I received a $900 USD bill from Hertz saying I had caused damage to the vehicle. The photos they sent of the damage were time-stamped nearly 2 days after I dropped the vehicle off. I countered with photos of the vehicle with no damage while it was in my possession, however since I didn’t take photos of the vehicle after I dropped it off, they’re not budging on the $900 bill. The location is a public parking garage that’s unmanned by Hertz employees. Anyone could cause damage to any of the vehicles at any time. I’ll never use Hertz again, and any time I use a rental car I will take copious photos of the interior/exterior at pickup and drop off to avoid this sort of scam. I HIGHLY recommend you do not use Hertz.
