Odda taxi is the first on schedule to bring you to Trolltunga parking meetup place, but is is also the first to leave at 17:30 back to Odda, so when you do the guided day hike, you will not make it on time and a round trip-ticket is a waste! buy the ticket for the bus at 7:10 and come back also after 18:00, that is more realistic. Our tickrt for the taxi was not accepted in the bus later the evening… the hotels should know and tell this to their guests in advance… but ours told us to take the one at 6:40…

Pretty spenny start to the experience. Maybe that's what you expect to pay but we didn't! Parking / first bus / second bus puts you back about £40. Let's hope it's worth it baby

15 euros for a 7 minute drive. Sometimes you have to sit on the floor. No other easy way of getting up there so you're stuck with them

Like many other people, I almost did not go because the official touristic website of Norway made it sound very difficult and not at all accessible. Turns out, totally possible if well dressed, because it gets cold with the rain and wind. I was probably the slowest person on the mountain, everybody was passing me by, but I still managed to do the whole thing in 8 hours (starting from P3). I sugest parking at P2 (will cost 500kr) and then you can take the shuttles to and from P3 easily, there is one every 30 minutes.

Okay facts:- P3: 30 spaces, advanced booking required (many days in advance!)- P1/P2: no advance booking possible, but quite some spaces - during main season (July-September): come early (latest 08:30)- P2 is recommended in comparison to P1, because you save a 4 hours street hike- bring proper gear (snow during the hike and potential, fast weather changes)- take the bus to P3(!!!) - you save another 90 minutes hike on the street- Overall time required (beginning from P3): 6-7 hours for 20km (10km one-way).- No extra tickets required to start the trail (you basically pay that with your parking tickets)The hike is absolutely amazing, not only the Trolltunga stone itself. 100% worth it!

Depending on your fitness, budget, timeframe and preferences I'd advise to take the shuttle to the top (from P2 to P3). This part of the walk is quite boring, on an tarmac/asphalt road and you'll get enough challenges on the hike itself. On the way up there was zero interaction with the driver, but on the way back we had the friendliest driver we've ever met.We spent the night around the 'Trolltunga' and arrived at P2 the day after two hours before the shuttlebus came. Since both the 'Trolltunga Shuttle' and the :P2-P3 shuttle' are operated by the same company (Odda Bus) we were driven all the way down to our car in the 'city' center. I doubt if Odda Taxi would offer the same service.Thanks a lot and keep this kind of service as a standard, please!
