Recommended if you are looking for traditional home made waffles (best in town) and a nice cup of coffee with fantastic views. If interested in history, just take the guided tour and if you like the place, just stay overnight. The rooms are amazing and so is the atmosphere.

Perfect retreat with only one downer: shared bathroom. Still the place is excellent!

A beautiful and warm hotel filled with history run by amazing people! The interior will make you feel like you are in a painting yourself, and the landlady gives a really nice tour through the house about the history and the past residents.Breakfast is delightful with the best view over the valley. Rooms are spacious and the (shared) bathrooms as well.We stumbled upon this place by surprise and it is still my favorite stop in norway so far.

SingerheimenSommerhaus des amerikanischen Impressionisten Wiliam Singer. Er war sehr vermögend und kam 1913 nach Olden. Er investierte viel in die Gegend und errichtete dieses tolle Gebäudeensemble.Sehr gut erhalten und nah am Zentrum

Delicious high tea and coffee with freshly prepared bread rolls, scones and sweet treats in the beautifully decorated and curated former house of a famous painter.The service was excellent with unlimited refills of coffee and tea frequently offered and excellent English. The interior was curated in the state of the early 1900's when a famous painter lived there. We only came in for a coffee, but it would also be possible to get a tour of the house or stay here as a bed and breakfast.If you are looking for a calm and luxurious cafe in traditional style with a beautiful view of the fjord, that's also surprisingly affordable (220 NOK for a high tea), I can't recommend this place enough.
