Avoid renting at this location at all costs. They are running a scam where they don’t inspect and don’t have anyone to inspect the car upon return and add fraudulent damages charges days later without any explanation.I rent cars very frequently and I always make it a point to have a inspection upon return. I’ve never been charged for damages before.I’m more than 100% sure I didn’t have any new dents or damages on the car upon return. And this particular location is so sketchy they purposely don’t do a return inspection and add fraudulent damage reports to your rental 2 DAYS AFTER I returned the car. Most places I’ve been to let your know when you’re returning the car.They are definitely taking advantage of customers traveling from different countries since they know we can’t dispute it after we leave.

Service minded and polite people working in this rental office. However Hertz Norway damage department are working not ok. Was waiting more than a week for evaluation of the damage. And 14000 NOK to fix small dent on the hood - are you crazy?

Avoid this Hertz. Unresponsive customer service. I was charged for damage, but they sent me pictures from a car that I didn’t rent. They did not respond to my requests for clarification before sending this debt to a collections agency! After 4 months of back and forth they finally provided pictures of damage that already existed!I provided them a date/time stamped photo of the damage. Admittedly, the photo was taken from a parking garage because it was pouring rain when we got the car and I didn’t want to get all soaking wet. They denied my proof because it wasn’t in their parking lot.Regardless of the outcome, the 1 star is for terrible customer service. Ultimately I had to pay the collections agency the debt plus their fee. This should have been resolved directly through Hertz had they followed their own policies.

This location is a fraud!!!I want to report a fraud scheme which I unfortunately got caught up in through a Priceline booking. Hertz are a scam. They falsely accused me of damaging the car and charged me 100% price over estimated rental. There was no incidents while I rented the vehicle. And I checked everything before returning it. They have the drop off location a little far away and there is no one there to inspect.When I went in to the counter at the terminal to return the key, I specifically asked the two agents after checking me out if there would be any overage charges on my rental contract. They confirmed with a firm no. A day later I received an email with accusations that I had damaged the front driver side wheel and a few other things like insurance that I had not accepted when checking in.I immediately called the Alesund airport location as soon as I got the email. There was no answer. I wrote to them immediately expressing my concern about the false charges. I got an email the next day which was a boiler plate text explaining that I was to blame for not having verified that there was no damages at the point of return.I heard from other travelers that this Hertz location in Alesund did the same fraud on them. Since we are leaving the country and they have our credit card, they feel like they can get away with fleecing customers. I am not going to let this go.
