An iconic structure that represents the very essence of Trondheims famed student community. Aside from the Vietnam Memorial in the U.S, this is probably the first major site I have visited that almost brought me to my knees. It is truly more beautiful and spectacular than all the photographs you have been. Best to get the view from behind first, where you might find women tending their goats in the late evening sunset. There is something magical about this place during sunset. You do want to get there fairly late in the day. It is worthwhile to have a tour guide to learn the history -- both true and apocryphal.
