A small yet fascinating collection of instruments, many of which are fully functional. Students act as guides and can play many of the instruments and sing! Set in an old house where music was important to the family, it is a delight to visit and learn!

Impressive, beautiful, emotional, interesting, colorful, educational, historical, the must for every visitor in Norway.

What a special place in Trondheim! Here you enjoy a nice museum of instruments - where people will give you a tour while playing the instruments for you; and you can also enjoy a nice botanical garden. The place is a little far from the city, so I would recommend either bringing food or eating before. There is a cafe there but there are not a lot of options.

Amazing antique Norwegian musical instruments and furnishings. Guides play instruments as they take you on a guided tour. Botanical gardens are beautiful. A very nice time for anyone that appreciates the arts. Provide enough time to enjoy.

Just a short note to thank the staff at Ringve for helping me to enjoy a near-closing-time visit two weeks ago. The front desk lady who recommended the sea sound exhibition was right to do so, and the gentleman chatting while playing harpsichord and pianola for me in the musical instrument section was a complete star. Thank you, from the theorbo lover!

Absolutt verd besøket og litt stiv billettpris hvis man får med seg omvisningen. Som en privat konsert hvor omviser spiller på instrumentene. Selve den faste museumsutstillingen er grei, men ikke veldig omfattende

Excellent museum and very accommodating staff.Spent a few hours in the open museum which had an excellent collection of instruments, then attend an impromptu saxophone concert by students at the local music school and finally we went to go on the guided tour of the old building. Unfortunately the tours had finished for the day by then but the staff were lovely and gave us a brief private tour which was excellent and they clearly had a passion for the work they do.Would highly recommend if you’re in Trondheim. The museum is also very wheelchair accessible with the only exception being the top floor of the old building.

The music museum was a surprise find on our northbound Hurtigruten trip. It is a mile and a half from the terminal and we visited on a ship's excursion. The guided museum trip takes you through the instrument collection, from a 17th century clavichord to a self-playing piano that Edvard Grieg worked with. The guide plays several of the instruments, so it is a chance to compare their sounds.

A very nice museum! There is a guided tour where the guide guides you inside an old house from around the 18th century and plays many musical instruments from older ages! Our guide Astrid was great and very friendly! I totally recommend it! We used our Rockheim museum for free entrance.
