A good free walking tour ( we have been on many so the comparables are many!). 90 minutes and you hit the highlights. Our guide was nice but well could have been more …something. Unfortunately free tours haven’t taken off here like other cities in Europe. So much opportunity! C’mon Norwegians!!

Really great walking tour, amazing guide who gave lots of information about local area as well as Norway as a whole. Saw key points in the city and guide gave great recommendations for things to do. Trip inclusive but not exhaustive, we found it to be perfect! Highly recommend.

I took this tour on the 4/6/23. I didn’t know much of but he history of Oslo and was hoping to gain some basic info. Ex: When it was founded or a quick 5 min recap of Norwegian history. I found the tour just ok and lacking a lot of info. The guy just gave some facts and his oration wasn’t really exciting. Didn’t explain much history of the city. Wasn’t until I went to the folks museum did I learn that the city was call Christiania until 1925 then changed to the current city Oslo. Another thing I learned later was that the opera house was designed/inspired to be an iceberg. I feel like some more knowledge or background would have been nice. He just walked us to the sites. Some sites had an interesting story. At the city hall he told us about the building. When we went inside. He didn’t mention anything about the murals or the wood carvings along the building. He sat down while we took pictures. This tour could be so much better. I wish I did the guided tour that was included in the Oslo pass.

I went on this tour this morning and definitely learned new things and got some ideas of what to do in Oslo, but the tour also felt lacking compared to other tours I’ve been on.The tour guide was not Norwegian and said she’d only been in Norway for a year, and it didn’t seem like she had a personal connection with Oslo the same way many other guides I’ve had did. She talked about some places I had already been to and got some information wrong. Sometimes she’d mention a place and I’d look it up, only to see that she got something wrong about it.She couldn’t pronounce Munch’s name correctly and stated he spent his life painting around Oslo, and while he was raised in Oslo and died there, he spent most of his career in Berlin. She claimed Munch and Vigeland were rivals but that makes no sense because they worked in completely different mediums and were only contemporaries. At one point, she took us to an Irish pub to point out they played rugby on the TV in case any of us were rugby fans like her and that Norwegians usually don’t even know what rugby is. She pointed to a Danish tea room and said while some of us may like tea, Norwegians don’t drink tea. I thought this was a tour of Oslo, not what she’s found strange about Oslo as an expat. While the group was quite large, she yelled in a way that was irritating, rather than projecting her voice from the chest. There are ways to speak loudly without it soundly guttural.

Amazing tour highly recommended, specially with Ramon. Interesting, entreating and quick! Plus, he gives amazing tips on where to go to get the most out of your experience in terms of sightseeing and money, even if you are in Oslo for a very limited time. I was here for one day and think it's a great way to start the trip.

I make a point of starting each holiday I take in a new city to do a walking tour - you get such a good working knowledge of the cities layout but you also learn tons about the culture and history of the city too. Irene was a great guide who was friendly and extremely knowledgeable would definitely recommend anyone visiting Oslo to take this tour!
